Om denne måling

Hvad den måler

Addresses with Balance ≥ $10K counts addresses whose BTC holdings are worth at least $10,000 at the price for each observation date. It is a count of qualifying addresses, not the sum of their holdings or the amount originally invested.

Sådan læses den

Rising values mean five-figure BTC balances are present at more addresses; falling values mean fewer clear that dollar line. The count reached about 5.00 million on October 6, 2025 and was about 3.80 million on October 17, 2026. The latter was above the month-earlier 3.68 million but below the year-earlier 4.66 million, a reminder to compare several horizons rather than one daily move.

Revaluation can move addresses across $10,000 with no transactions, so the series mixes balance changes and price effects. Historical dollar thresholds are not inflation-adjusted, and a single owner can have several qualifying addresses. Pair it with fixed-BTC balance counts to separate dollar wealth changes from changes in coin ownership.

FAQ

Does this count addresses that invested at least $10,000?

No. Qualification uses the current value of the BTC balance on each date, not its purchase cost. Coins acquired for much less can qualify after appreciation.

Why is this different from addresses holding at least ten BTC?

Ten BTC is a fixed coin quantity, while $10,000 corresponds to a changing BTC amount. The dollar-based count can change through price alone; the coin-based count cannot.

Can the latest count rise over a month and fall over a year?

Yes. On October 17, 2026 the count was about 3.80 million, compared with 3.68 million a month earlier and 4.66 million a year earlier. The two comparisons describe different windows, not conflicting data.
