Illiquid Supply estimates how much BTC is attributed to entities with a low tendency to spend the coins they receive. It uses address clustering and spending relative to receipts to model the less mobile part of supply, measured in BTC.
Як читати
Growth indicates more supply allocated to entities that historically retain receipts, while a decline indicates a smaller allocation to that behavior. Illiquid supply reached about 13.76 million BTC on November 28, 2023, compared with about 12.88 million at the May 2020 halving. The balance helps describe persistent retention rather than the amount traded on a given day.
An illiquid classification is behavioral, not a lock on spending or a fixed holding-age threshold. Lost coins and long-term custody can contribute, and entity reclassification can move supply between groups. A large balance does not establish how much BTC would become available at a different price.

Is illiquid supply the same as Long-Term Holder Supply?
No. Illiquid supply is based on entity spending behavior, whereas Long-Term Holder Supply uses coin age around a 155-day threshold. A relatively recent recipient can behave illiquid, while an old balance can belong to a more active entity.
Can illiquid BTC still be spent?
Yes. The label describes past retention, not a protocol restriction. A holder can spend the coins at any time if they control the keys and the outputs are spendable.
What does Illiquid Supply Net Change add to this balance?
The balance shows the modeled stock of illiquid BTC. Net change focuses on how that stock has expanded or contracted over its comparison window, making changes in retention easier to see.
