Interest rates

Interest rates are an important factor that affects option prices. Like other financial assets, options are also impacted by prevailing interest rates and changes in interest rates can influence option prices. The premiums for call options and put options are inversely affected by interest rate changes, meaning that rising interest rates benefit call options while causing puts to lose value. Conversely, falling interest rates benefit put options and cause call options to lose value.
