OTC Desk Inflow Volume adds the BTC entering addresses attributed to tracked over-the-counter trading desks each day. It measures incoming on-chain coin volume in BTC, rather than the notional value of completed OTC deals.
Hogyan értelmezzük
Larger inflows show more BTC arriving at the tracked desks for inventory, settlement or other client arrangements; smaller inflows mean fewer coins reaching those addresses. The highest recorded day was April 15, 2020, at about 21,346 BTC, versus a full-history median near 1,807 BTC. Such episodes identify unusual incoming coin activity without revealing who ultimately acquired the coins.
Coverage is limited to identified desk addresses and does not represent the entire OTC market. Inventory transfers can occur before or after a deal, and some settlement stays off-chain or uses other wallets; pair inflows with desk outflows or balances where available.

What does OTC mean in Bitcoin trading?
Over-the-counter trading involves deals arranged directly between counterparties or through a desk, rather than matched on a public exchange order book. The inflow series captures only BTC arriving at the tracked desk addresses.
Do OTC desk inflows show institutions buying Bitcoin?
They show BTC arriving at desk wallets, not the buyer or the trade direction. A transfer can reflect inventory funding, client delivery or settlement after an earlier agreement.
Why is OTC inflow volume different from total OTC trading volume?
A deal may settle later, through a custodian or within an internal ledger. Desk inflows track visible wallet receipts, so there is no one-to-one mapping from this BTC amount to all executed OTC trades.
