Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

German Government Holdings measures the BTC remaining in tracked addresses attributed to German government authorities. The balance is the sum of coins in those wallets, expressed in BTC rather than their dollar value.

Näin luet sitä

Large reductions show coins leaving the tracked government wallet set; a high balance indicates more coins remain there. The series reached about 49,859 BTC on June 17, 2024, while every recorded 2025 balance was below 0.01 BTC, making the later period very different in scale from the peak.

A near-zero balance does not establish that every German authority holds no bitcoin. Tiny incoming transfers can keep an emptied address above zero, and outflows can be transfers rather than completed disposals. When most of the history is zero or dust, a middle-ranking historical percentile can still correspond to an economically negligible amount.

Why can German government wallets show a balance after a large drawdown?

An address can receive small amounts after its main balance has left. A tiny nonzero reading does not by itself demonstrate renewed government accumulation.

Does this cover every German government bitcoin holding?

No such completeness is established by the chart. It covers the attributed address set, so assets held by other authorities or in unidentified wallets may be absent.

Why can a tiny German government balance rank above the historical median?

The history contains many zero and very small balances. A small amount can therefore rank above half the observations despite being negligible beside the roughly 49,859 BTC peak.
