Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Exchange Internal Transfer to Balance Ratio compares the volume moved between wallets attributed to the same exchange with the corresponding reserve balance, expressed as a percentage. It measures internal transfer intensity relative to holdings, not customer net flow.

Näin luet sitä

High readings show more internal movement relative to the reserve base, while low readings indicate quieter wallet operations. The full-history median is about 7.43%, and the series recorded 100% on September 14, 2021. A large reading can coexist with an unchanged total balance because moving coins internally need not bring money in or out.

Transfer volume is a flow and the reserve balance is a stock: the same coins may move repeatedly, so the ratio is not the percentage of unique coins touched. Wallet labels, balance timing and the measurement window affect comparisons. A sharp increase does not establish customer withdrawals or exchange distress.

Can internal transfers rise while exchange reserves stay flat?

Yes. Transfers between the exchange’s own tracked wallets change their individual balances while leaving the combined balance unchanged. This ratio focuses on that operational movement.

Does a 100% reading mean every reserve coin moved once?

No. Aggregate transfer volume can include repeated movement of the same coins. The ratio does not track the fraction of unique reserve coins transferred.

How does this differ from cross-asset internal transfers?

This measure explicitly compares internal transfers with a balance base. The cross-asset version combines activity across assets under its own normalization, so equal percentages need not describe equal BTC movement.
