Какво измерва

Supply by Profit/Loss Status groups circulating BTC by the percentage difference between current price and each coin's last-moved price, calculated as (current price / cost basis − 1) × 100. Twelve return bands, from <-78.6% to >300%, show held balances in BTC, with Total as aggregate supply.

Как да се чете

A growing deep-loss band means more supply sits far below its reference cost, whereas a wider high-profit band shows larger gains on coins still held. The -61.8% to -38.2% band reached about 6.17 million BTC on March 12, 2020, its historical maximum, demonstrating how a price decline can shift a large balance into a loss band.

Coins can change bands solely because price changes, even if none move on-chain. The return labels are not allocation percentages; lost low-cost coins, self-transfers and the chosen price reference also shape the distribution, which measures unrealized status rather than a commitment to spend.

Често задавани въпроси

Is supply in a loss band the same as realized loss?

No. It is the BTC still held below its last-moved reference price. A realized-loss metric requires those coins to move and measures the loss associated with that movement.

What does the >300% band mean?

Those coins have a current price more than four times their last-moved cost, corresponding to a gain above 300%. The amount shown is their BTC balance, not the dollar value of their gains.

Why can profit and loss bands change when transfer activity is quiet?

The cost reference stays fixed until a coin moves, but the market price changes every day. Revaluing existing supply can move coins between return bands without a transaction.
