حول هذا المقياس

ما الذي يقيسه

Realized Loss by Loss Margin sorts spent coins by their percentage loss from last-move cost and sums the USD losses within each band. A coin's return is its spending price divided by its previous price minus one; the chart values are dollar amounts, not percentages, and Total sums the losses.

كيفية قراءته

A larger -10% to 0% reading means substantial loss realization close to breakeven; activity in deeper bands shows coins moving far below cost. The -78.6% to -61.8% band reached about $3.94 billion on November 18, 2022, whereas -23.6% to -10% peaked near $3.04 billion on November 22, 2025. Similar headline loss totals can therefore mask very different loss depths.

A deep band need not dominate in coin volume: each BTC can contribute a larger dollar loss there. Transfers are not necessarily sales, and nominal USD levels grow with market scale. Positive-return bands contribute zero to realized loss; their presence in the field list does not mean profits are subtracted from the loss total.

الأسئلة الشائعة

Why does a percentage-loss chart use USD on the axis?

Percentages define which band a coin belongs to. Each plotted value is the sum of dollar losses on coins in that band, so it measures the financial size of the loss, not the average percentage decline.

How is the loss percentage calculated?

Divide the price when a coin is spent by its price at the previous on-chain move, then subtract one. A negative result places it in the corresponding loss band; the dollar loss also depends on the BTC amount moved.

Why are the profit bands zero in realized-loss data?

Coins moving above cost generate realized profit, not realized loss. The shared band list contains positive-return groups, but they add nothing to this metric and are hidden by default.
