An increase means more supply is assigned to this very large balance tier; a decrease means less. The historical high was about 2.897 million BTC on June 14, 2016, compared with about 1.593 million BTC on October 17, 2026. The tier’s shrinking balance does not establish that its former members sold all those coins.
At this size, a single entity entering or leaving can materially move the total. Pooled custody, wallet attribution changes and threshold crossings complicate ownership interpretation, so examine the above-100k band alongside this one and avoid assuming every cluster is an individual whale.
