Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Short-Term Holder MVRV divides BTC price by the Short-Term Holder Realized Price, the average cost of coins that last moved less than 155 days ago. It shows whether recent buyers as a group sit on unrealized profit or loss.

Så läser du det

Above 1, recent buyers are in profit on average; below 1, they are underwater. In bull trends the ratio has often found support near 1, while in bear markets rallies toward 1 have tended to stall as recent buyers exit at breakeven. Readings well above 1 reflect a build-up of short-term profit that has often preceded pullbacks.

The 155-day cutoff is a statistical convention, not a measure of intent. Exchange and custodian wallet moves can make old coins look young, and long-term holders selling into strength reshape the cohort's cost basis. The ratio moves fast, so it suits sentiment over weeks to months rather than long-term valuation.

Vanliga frågor

Why does STH-MVRV use a 155-day cutoff?

Coins held longer than about 155 days become much less likely to be spent, so the mark is widely used to separate short-term from long-term holders. It is a statistical convention rather than a hard rule.

Why is 1.0 a key level for STH-MVRV?

At 1, price equals the average cost of recent buyers, so their position flips between profit and loss there. That makes it a psychological line that has often acted as support in uptrends and resistance in downtrends.

How is STH-MVRV different from the overall MVRV Ratio?

The overall MVRV covers every coin and moves slowly, which suits cycle analysis. STH-MVRV only reflects coins moved in the last 155 days, so it reacts faster to price swings.
