Om denne måleverdien

Hva den måler

Total UTXO Value Spent adds the BTC amounts of all outputs consumed as transaction inputs each day. It measures gross input turnover in BTC, including inputs used in self-transfers and transactions that return change.

Slik leser du den

Higher totals mean more BTC has passed through transaction inputs, through more outputs being spent, larger outputs, or both. The series reached about 67.35 million BTC on January 24, 2016, showing that gross daily turnover can exceed the number of coins in circulation.

The same coins can be spent repeatedly within a day, and consuming an output counts its full value even if most returns as change. Wallet reorganizations can therefore produce enormous readings without equivalent economic payments. Read the total with output count and average input value, rather than as capital entering the market.

FAQ

How can daily spent value exceed Bitcoin’s supply?

This is a flow, not a balance of unique coins. Coins can move through several transactions in one day, with the input value counted at each spend, so the daily total can exceed circulating supply.

Does Total UTXO Value Spent exclude change?

It counts consumed inputs in full. If a large input funds a small payment and the remainder returns to the sender, the whole input still enters this measure.

How does total spent value relate to the mean?

For the same daily set of spent outputs, total value equals mean spent-output value multiplied by spent-output count, apart from rounding. The total can rise even when the mean falls if enough more outputs are consumed.
